Bathroom Products
The things you need to get the job done right
When you’re designing a bathroom, there are several products that make a big dent in your budget. Therefore, your product decisions will directly affect how much money you’ll have to save. Proper product research and review will make you confident that the products you choose will keep you happy for a long time to come and won’t break the bank.
Flooring
There are many different kinds of flooring available, but generally only three that work well in the bathroom. Resilient flooring is affordable and easy to install, so it may be the best choice for people on a low budget. Hardwood is tougher than vinyl but is also more expensive and more difficult to install. In addition, hardwood must be resealed often to ensure that bathroom mishaps don’t cause its ultimate demise. Tile is perhaps the most durable bathroom flooring choice, but it is considerably more expensive and almost always requires professional installation.
Sinks and Vanities
Sometimes a simple change of the sink can do wonders to renew the look of a bathroom. Installing a pedestal sink can create more room in a cramped space, and fitting an antique vanity with a new sink can bring your bathroom some charm.
Tubs
Your tub may currently be hiding behind a swath of fabric just so that your guests aren’t subjected to its horrible looks, but if you dream big, you may soon have a showcase tub. From antique claw-footed tubs to sleek new jacuzzis, there are tubs to suit everyone’s style and comfort level.
Toilets
Though it’s hard to track down popular opinion on the subject, a good toilet is always appreciated. Choices now run the gamut from basic to water-efficient to luxury models that will make a huge difference in your everyday life.
Tile
Surround tile can make a great difference in the finished look and functional maintenance of your bathroom. It’s an extremely durable product that will allow you to quickly wipe up any spills or splashes. Surround tile is becoming so popular that choices have grown enormously over the past 10 years. However, the term “surround tile” may be a little misleading since many people choose to use tile on all walls throughout the bathroom, making no distinction between the area surrounding fixtures and the rest of the room.
